A few years ago if I heard the names Slovenia or Croatia, I would think that they were cold, land-locked countries. Turns out that they have coasts along the Mediterranean Sea!
Slovenia is a part of the European Union and is located east of Italy. Croatia is just south of it and has a substantial coastline. Croatia is not a member of the European Union, but is a candidate for membership, according to Wikipedia.
I'd like to go visit these countries and go to the beach while I'm there. Here's a picture of the island of Mljet in Croatia, looks nice huh?
